Republic Of Balochistan Announced:
On May 9, 2025, Baloch activist and writer Mir Yar Baloch declared the independence of Balochistan from Pakistan, proclaiming the formation of the "Republic of Balochistan." This announcement, made via social media, called upon the United Nations to recognize the new state and requested the deployment of peacekeeping forces to the region. Additionally, he urged the Pakistani military to withdraw from Balochistan and appealed to India to permit the establishment of a Baloch embassy in New Delhi .
The declaration coincided with intensified activities by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), which claimed responsibility for coordinated attacks across Balochistan, including the seizure of Mangochar in Kalat District. The BLA also released a video alleging the killing of 14 Pakistani soldiers in an IED attack in the Kachhi district.
